Buying a New Home While Selling Your Current One? You Don’t Have to Figure It Out Alone

September 26, 2026•2 min read

Selling the home you’re in while buying the one you’ll move into can feel like a lot to manage. There are two sets of dates, decisions, paperwork, and people involved—and a change on one side can affect the other.

That’s where Courtney and Chris come in. Our goal is to help you move from one home to the next with a clear plan, steady communication, and as little unnecessary stress as possible.

We start with your goals

Before we talk about listing dates or showings, we sit down with you to understand what matters most. When do you need to move? What do you need from the sale of your current home? What are you looking for in your next one?

From there, we build a plan around your timeline and financial needs. You’ll know what decisions are coming and how the sale and purchase may affect each other.

We coordinate both sides of the move

Timing two transactions takes careful attention. We help you think through when to list, how to evaluate offers, and which closing dates may work for your situation. When appropriate, we can also discuss options such as home-sale contingencies, flexible closing dates, or temporary occupancy agreements.

Every transaction is different, and no one can promise that the dates will line up perfectly. Our job is to plan ahead and help you avoid an unnecessary gap between homes—or the strain of carrying two mortgages, whenever possible.

We price and market your current home with your next move in mind

The sale of your current home is an important part of the bigger picture. We provide an honest, data-driven look at the market to help you choose a competitive listing price. Then we market your home to attract qualified buyers while keeping your purchase plans in view.

At the same time, we help you search for a home that fits your needs and make informed decisions when the right opportunity comes along.

You have two agents keeping things moving

With Courtney and Chris, you have two dedicated agents working together across both transactions. We coordinate showings, offers, negotiations, inspections, appraisals, and closing details. We also stay in contact with your lender, closing attorney, and the other parties involved so everyone has the information they need.

If a challenge comes up, we address it early and help you understand your options.

Buying and selling at the same time may have a lot of moving parts, but you don’t have to manage them by yourself. We’re here to help you make your next move with a plan—and with a team looking out for your best interests on both sides.
